A friend of mine asked me to make a painting for his daughter based on her favorite myth: the birth of Pegasus. I loved doing this. I imagined that I was making the most elaborate theatre set, and I had actors playing the parts of, Stone Warrior I, Medusa, and Perseus. I included a furry array of friends, and butterflies of course, because they represent rebirth. I love Greek Mythology. I did especially when I was a kid, so it wasn't hard for me to put some of my own sense of wonder into it. One of the best things about Greek Mythology is that it is not uncommon for one to be born out of the cut neck of another. Brilliant.
